Shipping Policy
Shipping logistics play a crucial role in the delivery of perishable goods, particularly in the poultry industry. At Derksen Family Farms, we utilize UPS Ground for our shipping needs, ensuring that our products reach customers across Tennessee efficiently. The delivery timeframe is typically one to two days, which is essential for maintaining the quality and safety of our poultry products.
It is important to note that our shipping days are limited to Monday through Wednesday. Orders placed after 9 AM Central Standard Time on Wednesday will be processed and shipped the following week. This schedule is designed to minimize the time that perishable items spend in transit, thereby preserving their freshness and safety.
To ensure that our poultry products arrive in optimal condition, we employ insulated liners within our cardboard packaging, accompanied by ice packs. This method is critical in maintaining a controlled temperature during transit. Customers should be aware that while meat may arrive partially thawed, it remains safe for consumption or refreezing as long as it is cold to the touch upon arrival. This is a standard practice in the shipping of frozen goods and aligns with food safety guidelines.
Accuracy in the shipping address is paramount. We are not liable for any errors that occur due to incorrect address entries at checkout. It is advisable for customers to double-check their shipping information to avoid any potential delivery issues. Additionally, please note that we cannot ship to PO Boxes.
In summary, our shipping policy is designed to ensure that customers receive high-quality poultry products in a timely and safe manner. By adhering to our shipping schedule and guidelines, we can maintain the integrity of our products and provide a satisfactory experience for our customers.
